| Abstract | Mechanical deformation is know to have an influence on the velocity of the electrical conduction in cardiac tissue. Several experimental and computational studies have investigated this and a wide variety of different strain-conduction velocity relationships have been reported. In short, there are increasing, decreasing, constant and biphasic relationships reported. The objective of this study is to develop a computational model that includes multiple mechanoelectrical feedback mechanisms and is capable of reproducing the different strain-conduction velocity relationships reported. |
